STEELWALKER
About The Project
Steelwalker is the story of two friends venturing out from their secluded low-tech village to find a world devastated by high-tech mech warfare. The two friends must cooperate to find a beacon that will ward off remaining mechs from their homes and families.
The game is presented as a multiplayer split-screen experience and features tools unique to each player, exploration, puzzles and combat.
It was developed over the course of about 8 months by a team of 9 Game Development students including myself.

My Contributions
I served as programming lead, directing and overseeing the programming efforts of the other programming talent on the team. I spent a lot of time setting up systems for other programmers and artists. I'm planning on making a few blog posts explaining some of my work in more detail soon.
Highlights include:
Steam Networking Integration
A Pose-To=Pose animation framework
A level-building plugin called "Dungeoneer"
Dynamic Splitscreen and a Cinematic Camera Control System
Tech Art work such as Toon Shading, plants swaying in the wind, spline-based mesh generation for rivers, pipes and bridges
A Framework for level designers to easily build Interactions between level elements and players
Gameplay programming such as a dagger that lets you climb walls and cut ropes, batteries that can power level elements, boxes the players can push, etc.
